BookNox vs Studio Ninja

BookNox vs Studio Ninja. A booking link, not a CRM.

Studio Ninja is a full CRM built for photographers, with a lead pipeline, workflow automation, and a client portal. BookNox is the booking link on its own: one page that quotes the job, shows your open dates, signs the contract, and takes the deposit. $29 a month flat, with booking included from day one.

Why vendors switch

Booking at one flat price, not a tier upgrade.

Booking is included, not unlocked

BookNox is $29 flat with the booking page included. Studio Ninja’s cheapest plan at $16 does not include online booking forms; you reach those at Pro, $27. BookNox does the one job you came for, at one price, from the first day.

Travel priced onto the quote

A client types the event address, and BookNox measures the drive from your studio and applies your rate per mile before you have even read the inquiry. Studio Ninja does not do this.

A free toolkit for the money side

An invoice generator, a self employment tax calculator, a quarterly tax calculator, a Stripe fee calculator, a booking fee calculator, and a signature generator. Free, with no email gate.

Honest comparison

When Studio Ninja is the better choice.

Studio Ninja is a mature product with a real depth of features, and for a lot of photographers it is the right answer. Here is where it beats us outright.

  • You want an actual CRM. A lead pipeline, workflow automation, a client portal, and job management, built by photographers for photographers. BookNox does not offer any of that, on purpose.
  • You want someone to move your data for you. Studio Ninja includes free data migration and free one on one training. BookNox gives you a CSV contact importer and documentation, and you do the setup yourself.
  • You run a team, or more than one brand. The Master plan at $40 covers unlimited users and three brands. BookNox is built for a single vendor today; multiple users is not something we support.
  • You want to try the whole product before paying. Studio Ninja runs a 7 day free trial with no card. BookNox lets you build your page for free, but sending a proposal or publishing your booking page needs a subscription.

Studio Ninja also ships a mobile app, chat support inside the app, and integrations into Xero, QuickBooks, and the major gallery tools. If managing the whole client lifecycle in one system matters more to you than a fast booking link, it is the better tool and we will say so. BookNox is for the photographer who wants the booking handled in one link and no software to run.

FAQ

Common questions.

Is BookNox cheaper than Studio Ninja?
It depends which plan you need. Studio Ninja starts at $16 a month, but that Starter plan does not include online booking forms; the cheapest plan that does is Pro at $27. BookNox is $29 a month flat with the booking page included from day one, and it covers 13 service verticals rather than photography alone.
Does Studio Ninja take a cut of my bookings?
No. Both tools charge a 0% platform fee and both pay out through your own Stripe account, so you pay only Stripe's standard processing rate either way. This is not a fees comparison; it is a booking link versus a CRM.
Is BookNox a good Studio Ninja alternative?
Yes if what you actually want is the booking handled in one link, with no CRM to run. No if you want a lead pipeline, workflow automation, and a client portal. Studio Ninja does those well and BookNox does not offer them at all.
Can I switch from Studio Ninja to BookNox?
Yes. Export your contacts from Studio Ninja and import them into BookNox as a CSV, then set your packages once and share a single booking link. You can also keep Studio Ninja for its CRM side and use BookNox purely as the front door that quotes and collects the deposit. The two do not collide.

The booking link, without the CRM.
