Installment plans
For most industries you can define an installment plan in your pricing catalog. After the deposit, the rest of the client's total collects in up to four scheduled payments, each one a percentage of the total due a set number of days before the service date.
Setting up a plan
Open your industry's catalog in Settings and add installment rows: a percent, and how many days before the service date it is due. Your deposit percent plus the installment percents must total exactly 100, and each payment must fall closer to the event than the one before it. Weddings keep their milestone schedule and web design keeps its milestone model, so those two industries do not use installment plans.
The plan is frozen into the contract
When you create a proposal, your current plan is written into the payment schedule of the contract in exact dollar amounts. The signed document and the collection schedule always match by construction. Editing your catalog later changes new proposals only, never one a client already has.
How installments collect
Each installment collects like any balance payment: your client gets a secure payment link ahead of the due date with reminders as it approaches, or the card charges automatically if they opted in to autopay at the deposit.
