Connect Google Calendar

Connecting Google Calendar so bookings sync automatically. Full transcript: the article below.

Connecting Google Calendar means every paid booking lands on your calendar automatically, no manual entry. It's one of the onboarding steps, and your booking page won't go live until it's done.

What connecting does

You authorize BookNox once through your Google account. BookNox writes bookings to your primary calendar and reads only your free and busy times, never event titles, details, or attendees, to keep your booking page's open dates accurate. It has no access to your email. The connection (a refresh token) is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM.

What happens when a client books

As soon as a client's deposit clears, BookNox creates a calendar event with the title, date, time, duration, location, and a link back to the proposal. The client is also emailed a standard ICS invite (RFC 5545) that imports cleanly into Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar.

Weekly holds on your calendar

If you set recurring weekly holds in your availability settings, each hold also appears on your calendar as a weekly event through its end date. Hold events are marked Free on purpose: they are a visual mirror, and your page's availability comes from your BookNox settings.

Disconnecting

You can disconnect anytime from your dashboard, or from your Google Account under Connected apps. Disconnecting stops new events from being created and removes the weekly hold events BookNox added; bookings already on your calendar stay put.
